Whisky Magazine
The title says it all.
As you all should know by now, I love my Scotch. Well, for those of you who stick to tropical drinks with umbrellas in them, Scotch is a particular variety of whisky. The finest variety of whisky, in my not quite humble opinion, but still, there are those who swear by Irish whisky and other such things. Regardless of all that, there’s a magazine dedicated to all the various flavors and qualities of whisky called, of course, Whisky Magazine.
There’s something to think about while you wait for the best part of Friday to start!
Another reason I like you, NG.
I was educated in whiskey by a Scott, gay as a tree full of parrots, but he knew his whiskey. He was the manager of a pub where I was a bar tender and he was particularly fond of Single Malt Scotch. He claimed Laphroaig is the best, but I think it tastes like Raid insecticide with a hint of paint thinner. I’m fond of Isle of Jura, but won’t complain if someone hands me a glass of The Macallan…hell, I like blended stuff too, like Crown Royal, Wild Turkey and Jack. Just don’t try to pass off Southern Comfort as whiskey to me…it’s a whiskey liqueur and if I’m going to go that route, give me margarita!

Okay, I’m with your Scott on the Laphroaig. As far as I’m concerned, it’s smoooooth. Haven’t had Isle of Jura, but Macallan is one of my all-time favorites. If you’re wanting to test your manliness, try Loch Dhu, the only black Scotch. Oh, and blacker than the Devil’s heart it is, too. I only keep it around for medicinal purposes. Sure thing to kill a cold, flu, or living tissue.
Which reminds me, it’s the time of year for the Macallan “Sampler Pack” at Spec’s. Three, or four, small bottles of their various Scotches. Yummy!

I have a headache from the title alone. Oh wait, no that’s from last night.

Check back next week for a cure for that. I dole out good stuff on Fridays, but I space it out to keep my junkies coming back for more! Though, I’m too old to do that sort of serious drinking any more. I’m more of a one-drink sipper/designated driver kind of guy these days. (And, I don’t hardly charge anything for a chauffer service! 😉 )
