A rough week

The moon is Waning Gibbous

As if dreaming about my ex-wife weren’t enough!

So, I’m glad that it’s a new week, because last week was a little rough.
First, my car was in the shop, again, for mysterious electrical problems that the mechanic never could find. Sadly, even though he only charged me for the tow, I still paid almost five hundred dollars for a week’s rental on a car.
Then, Tuesday, my cell phone falls in the toilet and shorts out. So, I go get a cell phone “upgrade” that I’m due and end up spending yet another hundred seventy-five dollars I don’t have. Oh, and during that whole process, I discover that not only have I lost most of my saved data from the address book, but my old backup software won’t work with the new phone, so I can’t get the data back easily.
But, wait! There’s more!
It turns out that my new phone is defective and ninety percent of the keys don’t work, which means I have to go back and get my new phone replaced. But, before I can do that on Thursday, I discover that I’ve been fined one-hundred thirty dollars because my lawn trash was out a day early. Perfect!
I know, you’re asking yourself what else could go wrong, right? Well, Friday morning, my car won’t start. Again.

Well, I think the second mechanic has finally found the problem and sorted it out. And, just to keep things in perspective, at least I don’t have cancer.

  1. Wow! You are having a bad week. I’m sending you some positive mantra and a smiley face 🙂 I know they won’t help with the $$ issues but think of it as a virtual hug and I hope things get better…and quickly!

  2. Yeah, well, there’s actually even more stuff going on that just isn’t quite safe to throw into the blog. Loose lips sink ships and all that.

But, even with all that, it’s not so bad. I mean, it really could be worse. After all, I’m not trapped in a loveless marriage to a harpy, nor do I currently have cancer. While I could always use more money, I do have a job which does pay pretty well, and I have a really amazing group of friends who support me.
So, all in all, not so bad. Just not the best of weeks.

  3. Backup-Pal won’t let you down like your backup software did.
Do a search, you’ll find a lot of stuff on it. C-Net gives it an 8 out of 10.
    I personally recommend it.

It transfers your contact data across several hundred phones from Nokia, Samsung, Motorola and soon Blackberry without using a computer.

Just plug it into your phone and push the button. Transferring and upgrading is just as simple 🙂

  4. I wanted to comment on this the day you posted it, but when I went to submit, I had forgotten to type the security word, and, well, I just didn’t have time to fix the mistake. I really didn’t want to miss the bus home (nooooo, please don’t make me stay in Pocatello all night!). I did want to say that it all sounded like some kind of mean cosmic April fools joke. Yes, things could be worse, but that doesn’t make them any less frustrating, does it?

  5. Or herpes. Either one would pretty much be a buzz-kill.

  6. Yes, herpes would be a buzkill, too. Of course, last year at this time, I *did* have cancer and, in fact, had just been diagnosed. It’s been a long year. But, at least I don’t have cancer. Or herpes.
